Our mission is to help low-income and homeless families and individuals gain self-sufficiency by providing affordable housing, family support services, job readiness training and economic development opportunities.

Human Solutions' Impact

For over 20 years, Human Solutions has been empowering low-income and homeless families by
providing affordable housing, skill development, job readiness training and family support services.
We offer a continuum of programs designed to overcome homelessness, break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and ensure that families becomes self sufficient. In the last year we have touched the lives of more than 110,000 people.

Our service area covers 245 square miles and encompasses the highest level of poverty (families living at or below 30% of the Median Family Income) in the Metropolitan Portland Area. We are the largest developer of affordable housing in Mid and East Multnomah County with 14 housing complexes, containing 539 units, and
are one of the largest providers of energy assistance in the state, distributing 1.6 million dollars annually to help more than 6,000 families. Each year, our Employment Program trains more than 400 clients in office
proficiency and partners with local businesses to assist in job placement. Our homelessness prevention initiatives help 30 families per month remain in their housing.
