Human Solutions depends on donations from individuals, companies and foundations in order to serve as many families in need as we can. A donation of time, household items, or money can help to make a life-lasting difference for a family in need—right here in our community.

Donate Time Human Solutions depends on volunteers to make our programs work! Help out our efforts by donating your time to build a playground, teach employment skills, deliver donations to families in need, cook a meal or host a night at our Daybreak Shelter, or do many other interesting activities that make a huge difference. Donate Items Human Solutions is already accepting donations of gifts for our Holiday Store this winter! If you would like to donate new gifts for any age to economically disadvantaged kids and their families for the holidays, please contact lrimestad@humansolutions.org. Unfortunately, we no longer accept donations of clothing or furniture. Please visit www.communitywarehouse.org if you would like to donate furniture, or call Portland Adventist Community Store at 503.252.8500 X 111 to donate clothing.

How did Human Solutions make an impact with donations from the community last year? 407 people utilized our employment training; 250 families were served in our Holiday Store; 340 families received rent assistance to prevent eviction; 65,916 Callers or Walk-ins were given information and referrals; 761 individuals received short-term intervention and advocacy; 6,123 households comprised of 17,033 people received energy assistance; 202 families went from homelessness into housing as a result of our services; 206 people attended anti-poverty classes and domestic violence support groups; 17,874 visits from low-income shoppers at our Helping Hands Community Store; 2,000 + adults and children were housed in our 539 units of affordable housing; 68 households received shelter and support at our Daybreak homeless shelter.
