Every year, struggling families turn to agencies like Human Solutions for energy assistance. LIHEAP's federal budget of $5.1 billion last year didn't provide enough to meet the needs of low-income and homeless families across the country.

Human Solutions' clients depend on access to this federal energy assistance for survival. Each year Human Solutions provides more than 8,000 households in Multnomah County with emergency energy assistance, which is critical during the winter months.

Innovative Oil Recycling Program for Businesses and Public Agencies Raises Funds for Low Income Energy Assistance

Join Human Solutions and Oregon HEAT to help keep families in Multnomah County warm this winter. The donation of used oil by businesses, public agencies, and school districts or anyone with a fleet of vehicles, raises funds for energy assistance for households that are struggling with their heat and light bills. ORRCO will pick up your used oil and re-refine it into high-quality lube stock, which can be used for new petroleum products like motor oil—it’s the best thing you can do with your used oil! Used oil can be re-refined over and over again without wearing out—true sustainability. Burning used oil expels harmful materials into the environment including lead, cadmium, chromium, zinc and sulfur. Re-refining used petroleum keeps these toxic materials out of our air, water and landfills. It takes 42 gallons of crude oil to produce 2 ½ quarts of high quality lubricating oil. It only takes one gallon of used oil to produce the same amount!
